JUEL Coaching Staff
HEAD COACH JENJEN ABELLA| Jenjen Abella returns to the JUEL program having been the Associate Head Coach of the Juel team in 2022-2023 and Assistant Coach of the Juel team in 2018-2021. She was also Assistant Coach of Glebe High School’s Senior Women’s Team for the 2018-2019 season. Jenjen’s was a part of the Carleton Ravens Women’s team for 2 years , winning a National Championship with Carleton University in 2018 and was a 2-time OUA champion USPORT Bronze Medalist in 2017. She also played at Mohawk College for 3 years and was a 3-time OCAA Silver Medalist, a 2-time CCAA Academic All Canadian, a 2-time OCAA all academic Dr. Sam Mitminger award winner, a 3 time Most Valuable Player for Mohawk College, a 2-time OCAA first team All-Star and a 3-time OCAA Championship All-Star. Capital Region JUEL welcomes Jenjen as Head Coach of the JUEL team this season! |
ASSISTANT COACH CHRIS TESSIER| Chris Tessier has been coaching girls/women's basketball in the Ottawa area since 2005. During that time, he has been the Head Coach of girls’ basketball at various levels from U12 to U19 for Ottawa South Bedrock, Goulbourn Hornets AAA Girls Team, Ottawa Elite U19 Girls Team and most recently the Ottawa Elite JUEL Prep U16 (2021-22) girls team and the Ottawa Elite Juel U19 girls team (2022-23). Chris also had the opportunity to travel with the Juel team to Antigua and participate in player development there as well as coach a mixed team of Juel players in the Gillian Brazier tournament there. I have also been involved as Assistant Coach of the Ontario Basketball Association's girls' U14 and U16 Summer Development teams including the U16 Girls Team that won the Summer Games in 2014.
